In 2013, my involvement with the Yarmouth K-8 Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) began as an as-needed volunteer. In 2015 I moved into the board position of Yarmouth Elementary School (YES) Representative, in which I acted as a liaison between the PTO and YES staff/administration. In 2017, I held my final board position of Co-President. As the co-president, my duties included the joint supervision and control of all corporation business and affairs. In addition to my positions held, all of my experience with the PTO included an immense amount of fundraising, including events such as, the Ice Cream Social, Circus Maine, Bike Swap, Make-it, Take-it Craft Fair, Raise Craze, Silver Graphics and Close Buy. Additional community-building events included Field Day, Mystery Dinner Theater, Boo-Hoo Breakfast, Grandparents Day, as well as parent socials and open house events. Funds raised provided field trips, visiting specialists, enrichment supplies, and community events for grades K-8 in Yarmouth School Department.
